The mandatory nature of captures means every move carries potential consequences, rewarding careful planning and foresight.
Promotion and King Movement
A piece earns promotion to a king only when it reaches the farthest corner cell, at which point the turn ends. Kings gain the ability to move across multiple empty cells in a straight line, similar to long-range pieces in other board games. However, a newly crowned king cannot initiate a capture on the same turn it is promoted. This limitation balances the power of the king and prevents immediate domination, encouraging players to position their pieces strategically before promotion.
Board Size Options
Two board sizes are available: a compact 37-cell version and a larger 61-cell version. The smaller board leads to quicker matches with tighter positioning, while the larger board offers more room for extended strategies and longer games. Each size requires a different approach to piece placement and capture sequences, giving players the flexibility to choose a pace that suits their style.
Play Modes
Players can practice against an AI opponent to learn the rules and refine tactics. Local multiplayer allows two people to play on the same device, making it suitable for face-to-face matches. Online multiplayer connects players from around the world for competitive play. A spectator mode is also available, letting others watch matches and see move suggestions, which can be helpful for learning or analysis.
